Project objectives

The main objective of the project is to encourage, support and expand bilingual teaching in schools in Lübeck in order to provide a comprehensive bilingual teaching programme for children from preschool through to high school.

The bilingual teaching and extra activities to encourage bilingualism should contribute to the open-mindedness and intercultural education of young people. It will also help children and young people to be better prepared to enter an increasingly international job market.

A bilingual education can also encourage the academic and social integration of children and ensure that they quickly find a connection to school learning in Germany.

In addition, a bilingual educational programme can make schools in Lübeck stand out, remain forward looking and make Lübeck more attractive to potential residents arriving from abroad.
